Wrap care guide
Keep your wrap looking factory-fresh. A wrap behaves like paint: contaminants left to bake in the sun stain and degrade it. Clean film lasts longer.
Do and don’t
Do
- Hand wash every 2 weeks, or whenever it looks dirty
- Remove sap, bugs, droppings, tar, and fuel right away
- Use pH 5–9, non-abrasive soap only
- Park in shade, a garage, or under a cover
- Test any cleaner in a hidden spot, then rinse
Don’t
- Brush-style car washes
- Acetone or harsh solvents
- Let alcohol soak into the film
- Pick at edges or seams
- Pressure wash or brush wash during the first week
Break-in
- First wash: wait 2–3 days (48–72 hours) so the adhesive fully cures.
- Cold install: let the vehicle sit indoors at room temp for 24 hours before going back into the cold.
- First week: no pressure washer, no brush wash. Keep hands off edges, seams, and recesses while it bonds.
Your care rhythm
- Right away: spot-clean bugs, droppings, sap, tar, and fuel before they stain.
- Every 2 weeks: a full hand wash, or whenever it looks dirty. This matters most.
- Where you park: shade, garage, or cover slows UV fade.
- Clean horizontal areas (hood, roof) more often. Pollution settles there.
- Boat and trailer graphics: rinse with fresh water after each use.
How to wash it
Hand wash is best. Pre-rinse with clean water to float off grit. Mild soap and a soft mitt, top to bottom. Don’t scrub edges. Rinse well, then dry with a squeegee plus microfiber or chamois.
Automatic car wash: brushless / touchless spray-only is OK. Skip the wax add-on if you don’t know what they’re spraying.
Tough spots: treat immediately. A quick alcohol wipe is fine if you rinse after and don’t let it soak.
Any product, every time: no petroleum distillates, no abrasives, pH 5–9. Always test in a hidden area first.
Care by finish
Most forgiving. Wash, wax, and seal as normal.
No gloss wax. Warm soap, or a 50/50 alcohol-water wipe. Don’t let alcohol soak.
No brushes. Wipe one direction. Grit-free products only.
Pressure washer — last resort
- Under 1,200 psi
- Water under 180°F
- Stay 12 inches or more away
- 40° wide tip, square-on to the surface
